SOMEONE HELP ME BEFORE I LOSE MY MIND!!!!
My 17 month old monkey is climbing on everything. We have gates galore, but he still manages to get on the coffee table, the dining room table once in a while, the dining room chairs. It's driving us kooky!!!!! What do I do, we've tried every form of discipline and nothing seems to work. He's had bruises and cuts all over his head. He just goes back for more.
Does my child lack in common sense???? He seems to be very smart, but 2 seconds after a fall or getting punished he just goes back for more. Does he have no fear????
If anyone has any solutions for my monkey to stop climbing all over the house, please please chime in!!

If you get a solution, I want to know about it! Our little monkey also loves these things. I walked into his sister's room yesterday, and he was standing on his sister's dresser....admiring himself in the mirror!
I wish there was a solution but I'm sorry to say there isn't. I think that's just how boys are because my little girl was never as determined to climb all over everything the way he is.
I think it's a boy thing. Ben is the same way. Drives me bonkers!!
Ditto what Ann(ie) said above... it must be a boy thing. I have 2 climbers and 2 non-climbers. OY!
Good luck!

Nope I have nothing! My 16 month old is the same way. He always has a few bumps and bruises on his head. By the way, you have a beautiful family! Just found your blog through '4 Little Men'.
Secure all furniture that could topple over, especially televisions...and then pray and do your best to keep him busy with other things. I also found when I made less of a big deal about it, the climbing lost some of its appeal.
My monkey settled down a little bit as he got older. But most importantly he lived through it (he is now 11).
Good luck!
ps. I love your blog design!!!!
He sounds just like my two year old, and we call him . . well, our little monkey! Since he is my first born boy I thought that this was just boy-nature. You mean it's not?
