The monkey face cupcakes turned out ok... not quite as nice as the photo on wilton, but for my first time ever working with chocolate candy i think they are cute...

Now on to my huge accomplishment... I never in my life decorated a cake before.. I had my friend come help me.. more like guide me, and give me a hand.. and look how awesome it turned out!!! I am so excited...

First I have to give all the credit that goes to this recipe to WILTON!!!!! I am so excited that they have this recipe on their website as the theme to Cory's 1st Birthday is Monkey's. I have to make this today.. So i better start now!!!! It is not tried and true by me yet, but I have to make it today so I figured you can all share on the journey with me. Monkey Munchie

Pattern:

• Monkey Upper and Lower Face (2004 Pattern Book)

Tools:

• Standard Muffin Pan
• White Standard Baking Cups
• Disposable decorating bags
• Non-Stick Parchment Paper

Ingredients:

• White, Light Cocoa Candy Melts®*
• Garden Candy Color Set
• Chocolate Buttercream Icing

*Brand confectionery coating

Ice cupcakes smooth with chocolate icing. Tint portions of melted white candy black and light pink using candy colors. Add a small amount of melted cocoa candy to white for tan shade used on face. Outline and pipe-in parchment-covered face patterns with melted candy in cut disposable bags; refrigerate until firm.

Carefully peel off parchment. Position upper face candy on cupcake; overlap with lower face candy. Pipe eyes, nose, mouth and cheeks using melted candy in cut bag. Insert 2 cocoa Candy Melts wafers in cupcake for ears.

Each serves 1.

My son Cory will be 1 on September 6th. How fast a year has passed me by. We are having his party on Saturday. This Saturday! So my week has been so very hectic. Monday and Tuesday were out and about days. Yesterday was cleaning and scrubbing, washing and folding and putting away 5 bins of laundry. Then vacuuming every room, mopping all of the floors, and steaming my carpet. If you would have seen me you probably would have thought i was crazy!!!

Shoot I thought I was Crazy.

Today is baking day!!! I have to bake the cake and the cupcakes so that they are cool enough to decorate tomorrow. My Coco Bunny friend is a great cake decorator and she will be coming by to help me out!!!!

Tonight I also have to go to a viewing. A very sad one. My nephew who is also my Godson, his Godfather who was only about 22 was in a fatal car crash, he held in there for a while undergoing surgeries and transfusions, but he let go. Today I have my nephew here with me, and we are going to make something special for his godfather to put with him. He will not be going as he is very young, but when he is older I will explain to him that a peice of him is with his Godfather.

After that I am going out with my neice to her friend's birthday. Tomorrow is getting everything for the party ready. Last round of shopping, and then decorating the cake, and touching up the house..

Whew.. I am wiped out.. Next week Summer is over for us, and I have to get us back on a NORMAL schedule.

It is amazing.. She has just started a blog, and will share her journey in life and weight lost.
