Works-For-Me-Wednesday
The almighty Gerber NUK, or as we call in our household passed down through generations, "The GAGA". You may know this as a soothie, binky, or pacifier. I know some people dont believe in using these tiny little suckers, but My first was breastfed and he wanted to use me as a pacifier. After a week and a half of that I decided that I could not sit on the couch with him on my breast 24 hours a day, therefor he became a Gaga baby. We took it away when he turned 2 just as his dentist advised with no problems. We now give Cory the Gaga.. He doesnt like it as much as Guy did, which is quite alright with me, but it absolutely does help in those situations where one is absolutely needed.. Like being out and he is fussing for no reason.. Or he likes to suck to fall asleep.. Or just sometimes when he needs a little extra comfort that his mama can't give him. Some believe it will interfear with a baby's eating habit. If you have seen picture's of Cory you know this is not true. You can find these amazing little silicone Gaga's at almost any local store. It has been a Sanity Saver!!!!!

My four kids have each had a paci. It really is a useful tool for calming babies! When I want my kids to be done with the pacis, I cut the ends off and say "paci broken". They don't like the hole in the tip and quit using them. One of my kids even went and threw it in the trash! Hmmm, maybe I'll use this idea as a future WFMW. ;)
